With the correct size and shape, the AFM® is ideal for water filtration applications. A typical water purifier has a filter surface of approximately 3,000 square meters per cubic meter, but AFM® has a surface area of more than 1,000,000 square meters per cubic meter.
Applications of AFM® Industrial Water Purifier
The industrial application of AFM® glass filtration media for cooling tower side-stream filtration can reduce TSS by up to 95%. In addition of reducing TSS, organic pollutant & oil, VSS and particles larger than 1 micron can also be reduced by filtering at a speed of 15-20 m/h with AFM® glass filter media.

The use of AFM® glass filters in industrial plants for wastewater treatment. If the water has low mineral oil concentration (< 50 mg/l), AFM can clear up to 95% of OIW by aerating into water that needs to be treated and leaving it for at least 30 minutes. After that can add in APF® before the water is introduced into the filtration process with AFM® glass filter media.
To remove chromium or copper, up to 95% TSS can be achieved by adjusting the pH to 7.0-7.5 with MgO2 or 8.5 (caustic). Use calcium polysulphide first, then allow to settle for 30 minutes before filtration at a speed not higher than 5-10 meters per hour with AFM® glass filter media
